Cozumel Mexico Blog

There are a number of buyers coming to Cozumel looking to buy a second home in Cozumel Mexico and I have several appointments after giving updates on the MLS or Multiple Lising Service  in Cozumel.  I blog about this as there are competitiors like Re/max, Cozumel Living and Cozumel Capital who would believe that just posting on a website will give the seller exposure to a potential buyer.  However unless you actually use the internet for homes for sale you may never find a buyer.  So I am also adding a Vblog to my sites called Live from Cozumel which is a play on our company name Live In Cozumel and The Mayan Riviera Realty.  In addition I have blogged on this site with Posterous and other sites including Twitter, Trumblr, WordPress, Active Rain, Facebook photos on Flicker and video on Viddler.

I believe that will just about cover it...

On the Waterfront

With the arrival announced of five ships today, this Tuesday will be the best of the high season with more than 10 thousand visitors; as all wait for the cruisers in the terminals SSA, Puerta Maya and Punta Langosta.

The combined capacity of visitors of the ships that will arrive this day to the island is from 12,500 to 15,000 people, counting passengers and crew members, what prefigures an excellent commercial activity.

In spite of the fact that not all the passengers and crew members disembark and that the ships could come less than completely full, at any rate Cozumel expects a massive presence of people in the streets and on the beaches of the island, being the industry of excursions and guided tours the that will be one of the more active sectors, as the excursions on our coasts are the main activities of the cruise passengers in Cozumel.

With this level of arrivals, the island is directed in a certain way to break the goal of this year, which is to attend to two and one-half million or more tourists in this port, without counting the crew members, which already are at levels of 900 thousand more people disembarked in this year.

Only we maintain a caution for the possibility that cold front No. 19, located in the Gulf could arrive, although there is no forecast of closing of the port, which is a decision of the Headquarters of the Port that only would be put in place in the case there be registered very bad weather.

PRESS RELEASE

ConfiCasa Mortgage International Opens a Division in Manzanillo, Mexico Continuing its Aggressive Expansion

Last update: 8:30 a.m. EST Dec. 4, 2008
HOUSTON, Dec 04, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- ConfiCasa Mortgage International, LLC continues to aggressively expand its on-the-ground office presence throughout the resort areas of Mexico with the recently announced opening of a division in Manzanillo, Mexico. Located in Las Brisas, at Av. Lazaro, Cardenas 455A, the Manzanillo division opening is part of the Company's aggressive strategy to meet the increasing demand for cross-border Mexico mortgage loans in several strategic Mexico resort markets. Over the last twelve months, ConfiCasa has opened additional divisions in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta with near-term plans to open a division in Cancun/Playa del Carmen, making ConfiCasa one of the only cross-border mortgage lenders with offices spanning Mexico.
The Manzanillo division will be led by Jim Lehman. Jim holds a graduate degree in business management, with a focus on foreign trade. Before moving to Manzanillo, Jim lived in Europe and Central America, and traveled extensively in Africa, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East for business development. Jim's global experience coupled with a strong real estate management background, adds a unique and fresh perspective to ConfiCasa's clients; U.S. and Canadians purchasing Mexico real estate for use as a second home or a primary residence upon retirement.
According to Matthew A. Miller, ConfiCasa's President and CEO, the Company continues to see strong demand for its Mexico loan products, despite the U.S. and global economic turmoil. In fact, the turmoil has boosted demand as buyers (who in prior years had first looked to purchase Mexico real estate with cash) are now looking to hold onto their cash by obtaining an affordable cross-border Mexico mortgage through ConfiCasa. Further, as ConfiCasa's loan products become more affordable and the entire Mexico mortgage process continues to become quicker and smoother, buyers are increasingly looking for financing. To help capture this demand, ConfiCasa is excited to continue to identify strong but untapped markets such as Manzanillo.
